Wait Until Dad Comes Home
"Just wait until your Dad gets home!"
I heard, and I knew I was in trouble deep.
So off to the bedroom I was sent -
but no way could I sleep.

Whatever the deed I had done-
there was a set course of therapy.
Not telling the truth, lying brought
the worst that could possible happen to me.

I surely didn't want Dad to come home
on those long, long days.
He always came home - he believed
in the Holy Bible and it's ways.

He believed in God, spare the rod -spoil the child,
and honor your parents.
But I didn't get punished as much as my brother
he didn't use a lick of sense.

I found out quickly not to have my full name said
so I could look forward to Dad Coming home.
As I wrote, the list of problems with my brother
caused even Dad to groan.
