My Dear, Dear Dad
Dear friends, I sure was a lucky baby.
also a lucky little tyke.
My Dad spent time with me,
he put the training wheels on my first bike.

My friends, I'll never forget that day
I was the happiest, luckiest boy around.
My little spirit soared high.
But my bike and me stayed on the ground.

I also remember when Dad took me fishing in his boat.
That's when I caught my first fish.
Boy, oh boy was I excited reeling in a five pound trout.
It was for supper the main dish.

Oh Yes, a hunting we went,
I finally shot my first turkey for Thanksgiving.
I had to pull most of the feathers out,
it was no fun, but it was high natural living.

You know my friends, all of those wonderful days
I knew the Lord was in our home - every room.
There was going to church,
it always seemed Sundays came too soon.

Thank You, Lord, for my dear, dear Dad
You sure blessed me a lot.
My Dad loved me and I loved him
with all the love that I've never forgot.
