Life Is Brief
Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be, I know
that my days are numbered - we each have a dying day.
Lord, let me remember my life is fleeing from me and
"You will return to dust."  The preacher will say.

My entire lifetime is just a moment to You,
human existence is but a breath.
Help me, Lord, that I will worship only You and
that I will stay true to You when I meet my death.

For we are only moving shadows and all our toil
each day amounts to nothing lasting at all.
Remind me, Lord, the wealth I have will belong to
someone else when You give me my last day's call.

Lord, where do I put my hope?  My only hope
in life is You!
Rescue me, Lord, may all of my days here on
earth be lived doing what You want me to do!
