The UH-1 Medi. Vac
Viet Nam

The rotor blades are bent and
her engine worn out.

The fuel cells almost dry, the red cross
on her side is faded from all the
heavy loads she carried each day.

When the last wounded soldier
is safely home, I hope she
has a place to rest, sadly I know
my beautiful UH-1 will pass away.

Sometimes in dreams I hear
her blades and a little tear will fall
for the UH-1 and the men of Viet Nam.
