Great Memories
When the Lord was passing out Dads,
He gave me the very best one!
And I was always happy and thankful
to be my Dad's son.

Dad ruled the house and we were
surely aware of that.
But, he was not a harsh task master
and he always knew where we were at.

I must admit - there were a few times
his leather belt was used.
Dad said, "This hurts me more than
you!", but we never felt abused.

I recall the times Dad spent taking
me fishing and playing horse shoes.
Yes, what a wonderful Dad the Lord
gave to me - never to really lose.

Oh! What great memories I still have
of him, he has been in Heaven 18 years.
And I remember all of our laughter so
very vividly - but only a few tears.
