Didn't Always Get Any
Dear, dear Dad, Oh! What fond memories
I still have of you - you were so nice and kind.
There was no one else like you,
no one I would rather find.

You did with out for me and
when I was punished it hurt you more than it did me.
Or course, I wouldn't know that if I
weren't a father - now I can see.

Thank you Dad, for all the wonderful things you did
and those you did not do.
There were times I thought you were too mean,
but, dear Dad, not you.

I can still see your smile for me
you had so many.
Thanks Dad, for the times we went hunting
and fishing even when we didn't get any.
