Dear Dad
Dear Dad, I love you much more as a grown man
than when I was just a small pup.
You were always there for me and you filled
my heart with love - you filled a young boy's cup!

I learned much wisdom, as God taught you and
you passed it on to me - I tried to pass it on to others.
Yes, in the walk of every day life I was ready
to love everyone of my dear sisters and brothers.

As our generation started having children we were
blessed with guidance, thanks Lord, thanks Dad.
We teach our children as we were taught they will
hand it down to the next generation, I'm glad.

So Dad, I felt like writing this poem to you,
although you have been in Heaven for 20 years.
I still picture you and I playing cards, shooting ducks on the wing and just having fun - what joyful tears!
